The Order of AHEPA

The Order of AHEPA’s mission is to create an awareness of the principles of Hellenism to society. These principles include a commitment to humanity, freedom, and democracy. The preservation and promotion of these ideals is where AHEPA has, and always will be, deeply committed.

AHEPA educates the community on these matters through symposia, forums, and conferences.

Our Chapter HJ-04 Solon specifically is making an impact to the Hellenic Society by serving and

staying focus on its’ goals with continuous efforts and under strict planning of standard

actions.

 HJ-04 Athletics Committee supports since 2021 the Federation “Tang Soo Do Fighting

Rules member of Π.Ο.Κ” . This Federation prepares new Athletes with potential to raise our Hellenic

Flag with their participation in National & International Tournaments. The committee

is leaded by the Director Andreas Garifalos, Athlete and businessman related in the

sports field. This Team being member of Π.Ο.Κ is promising to represent our country

even to the next Olympic Games and is our duty to support them.

HJ-04 Hellenic Culture Committee supports the Museum “Herakleidon” in Thision,

Athens. Museum was founded in 2004 by Mr. and Mrs. Firos based in the triptych of

Science, Art and Mathematics. The aspiration of the museum’s founders, the

scientific advisors and all the staff, is the awakening of the research spirit. Is a non

profit institute and needs support to spread the spirit of Hellenism worldwide.

This Committee is leaded by each active President of our Chapter due to its

importance and symbolism of our Principals. 

 

The HJ-04 Education Committee is comprised by major members our Chapter with vast Senior Acamedic background and their duty is to spread knowledge and awareness to all directions by organizing

events and lectures. Soon will initiate on demand lectures in English language for the

benefit of our AHEPAN Brethren worldwide.

HJ-04 Civic Responsibility Committee has adopted the Special Rescue Team ΕΠ.ΟΜ.Ε.Α

which is comprised by volunteers and includes in their leadership Special Trained

Rescuers of the Hellenic Air Force. This Team serves nationally along with the fire

brigade, police and the coast guard or even the armed forces in cases of national

disasters. Mainly is funded by its own members and volunteers. The Team is leaded by

the Director Agapitos Hatzielenis – Certified Rescuer himself & successful businessman

in Corfu & Perama.

HJ-04 Veterans Committee  is supporting

the role of the Hellenic Institute of Strategic Research. The latest contribution of this

committee was the contribution for the upgraded present web page of the Institute (

https://elisme.gr/ . Committee is also organizing a variety of lectures in Geopolitics,

history and other key subjects of interest.

HJ-04 Charity Committee under the leadership of Georgios Tsonis is supporting

Orphanages & Institutes requiring aid.

At the end of each year our chapter embraces the young children of Hatizikiriakion

Foundation in Piraeus donating secretly from the children beautiful Christmas gifts

placed under Institute’s Christmas Tree. During Easter this committee aims on the

donation of Easter cakes, candles, and sweets. On 4/4/2023 our Chapter successfully

covered the Easter needs to all children living in the Institute.

HJ-04 Family Committee under the leadership of Anthimos Vougioukas expert in

catering and hospitality himself is supporting our Chapter’s meetings and events on

every occasion. Family Committee in summer 2022 achieved a cooperation with the

luxury Hotel Mikra Anglia in Andros Island with special discounted pricing for All AHEPA

brethren in general.

HJ-04 Hellenism Committee is leaded by the Legal Advisor and Past President Christos Faslis. Is close to the Hellenic Navy and aims to support the

Olympico Vision as of 2023. The latter is promoting the idea to get Olympic Games back to Hellas. Along with the

President and the Director of Shipping Committee all together managed to

collect full amount required for the purchase of Mooring Ropes for one Fast Missile

Vessel (Τ.Π.Κ – pending is the approval by the Hellenic Navy).

HJ-04 Maritime Committee is under the Leadership of Lefteris Chrisofakis owner of

Shipyards Agios Nikolaos in Perama Attikis and businessman in catering business.

The Committee maintains relationship with the Hellenic Maritime community aiming

on their support when this will be required.

For the first quarter of 2023 we focus on the Tang Soo Do Fighting Rules Federation.

Athletes who participated in past International and National Tournaments have marked

significant achievements. In 2015 the Federation was ranked 1st in the International

Tournament of Las Vegas. At the end of 2022 another two athletes succeeded again by

get ranked 3rd in the International Tournament organized by WAKO in Italy and 2nd in

the WAKO Open Tournament in Bristol of U.K.

Our Chapter achieved a cooperation with major Tourism Corporation in Cyprus which is

willing to provide extra discounts on tickets, hotel accommodation etc. for every

participation of the Tang Soo Do Team Nationally or Internationally.

Our Major chapter’s meetings events and lectures are getting organized in the

Herakleidon museum’s congress hall ( https://www.herakleidon-gr.org ) . In order to

constantly support this foundation as well we encourage all our members and their

associates to use their premises for their personal business or academics’

presentations.

The Daughters of Penelope

The Daughters of Penelope was the realization of Alexandra Apostolides Sonenfelds’ dream. Her desire was to create a woman’s organization and because of her perseverance and the encouragement of her husband Dr. Emanuel Apostolides, a devoted AHEPA, she formed EOS Chapter#1 with 25 charter members on November 16, 1929 in San Francisco, California. She was elected the first Grand President of the organization in 1931.

The Sons of Pericles

The Sons of Pericles were started in 1926 by a group of Manchester, N.H. AHEPANS. The founder was Dr. Alexander Cambadhis. He helped the fledging new youth group with their dealings with other organizations as well as with the Order of AHEPA. His goal and the goal of the Sons of Pericles is to promote Hellenism to the youth and to keep the fire of our Motherland burning for generations to come. Together with the aid of some members of the Order of AHEPA from the Manchester, NH, Chapter, these young men were the first members of the Order and are known collectively as The Mother Lodge of the Sons of Pericles.

The Maids of Athena

The Maids of Athena is an international philanthropic and fraternal organization and the junior auxiliary to the Daughters of Penelope. Founded in 1930, our sisterhood quickly grew among young Greek women and today claims chapters across the US, Canada, and Greece. The Maids of Athena strive to achieve the ideals of Athena, as well as promote the Principles of our Order: Sisterhood, Service, Citizenship, Hellenism, Family, and Arete.
